
Senior Color Developer - Global Apparel, Energy

WHO YOU’LL WORK WITH
You will report to the Global Apparel Materials Team (GLAM) and provide critical support to partners during seasonal color development initiatives within the Energy team. Your collaboration will extend across key stakeholders, including product managers, design, technical development, Global Product Creation Centers (PCC), and Product Risk Engineering. As an essential member of Nike’s Color Development community, you will serve as both a mentor and an expert resource, guiding others and sharing your knowledge to foster excellence in color development across the organization.
WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR We are seeking a detail-oriented Senior Color Developer to join the Global Apparel Materials team. This role requires strong expertise in digital color measurement to guide vendors on color achievability and support innovation in Nike’s digital color capabilities. You will apply deep knowledge of textiles, coloration methods, and colorfastness testing to ensure timely lab dip approvals and maintain high color quality standards. Success in this role requires strong collaboration, leadership, and a passion for product excellence and process improvement.
Bachelor's degree in Apparel, Textiles, or related field. Will accept any suitable combination of education, experience and training.
3+ years of experience in color, textile, or product development (additional experience may substitute for a degree); must pass the Munsell Hue color test
Strong expertise in dye methods, color achievability, and colorfastness, including resolving testing issues and partnering with vendors
In-depth knowledge of textile and yarn construction, fiber dyeing characteristics, and fabric finishing
Proven experience with digital color review, including vendor communication using digital data; Natific experience preferred
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with experience working across global, cross-functional teams
Proactive problem-solver with strong organizational skills, able to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in ambiguity
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a diverse team environment
WHAT YOU’LL WORK ON In this role, you will leverage your expertise in color development and collaboration to deliver seasonal color direction and support buy-ready commercialization. You will work closely with cross-functional partners to anticipate risks, drive alignment, and advance new digital color processes.
Key responsibilities include:
Implementing seasonal color direction and ensuring timely approvals for commercialization
Collaborating with design, development, and Product Risk Engineering to identify risks and build mitigation plans
Building strong cross-functional relationships through technical expertise and effective communication
Mentoring teammates, onboarding new hires, and sharing best practices in color development
Helping establish and evolve digital color review processes
Researching and applying innovations in digital color, contributing to or leading related projects
