About the Role We are seeking a strategic and hands on Director of Manufacturing to lead and scale our manufacturing operations. This is an on‑site leadership role in Austin, TX, requiring close collaboration with production teams and direct involvement in driving performance on the floor.
This role is ideal for a leader who wants ownership and the opportunity to build, not just manage. You will play a critical role in shaping our manufacturing strategy, implementing scalable systems, and driving operational excellence as we grow.
Key Responsibilities
Lead all on‑site manufacturing functions, ensuring efficiency, quality, and scalability
Develop and execute manufacturing strategies aligned with company growth objectives
Drive continuous improvement initiatives across production, cost reduction, and process optimization
Oversee production planning, scheduling, and resource allocation
Establish and track KPIs to measure performance and drive data‑driven improvements
Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards
Own and enhance quality management systems and lead certification efforts (ISO, UL, etc.)
Build, lead, and develop high‑performing manufacturing teams
Partner with engineering and product teams to support new product introduction and scaling
Implement systems, tools, and automation to improve manufacturing performance
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or related field
7–15+ years of experience in manufacturing
5+ years in a leadership role
Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and continuous improvement
Experience with quality management systems and certifications (ISO, UL, etc.)
Experience with ERP systems and production analytics
Proven ability to scale manufacturing operations and improve efficiency
Strong leadership and communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in renewable energy, solar, or energy storage
Lean Manufacturing/Six Sigma certification
Experience in high growth environments
Master’s degree (MBA or related field)
