Purpose and Scope
The Director of Dealer Development is responsible for driving sales growth and strengthening relationships across ACT's dealer network. This position leads the development, implementation, and execution of strategic programs to expand market share, increase dealer engagement, and enhance sales performance across all regions. The role requires a strong balance of business development acumen, channel strategy expertise, and relationship management to ensure ACT and its dealers achieve mutual success. Responsibilities
Lead the development and execution of ACT's
dealer sales strategy , including setting goals, performance targets, and growth plans. Build and strengthen
relationships with key dealer principals and leadership teams
to increase engagement and loyalty. Develop programs to
recruit, onboard, and support new dealers , ensuring alignment with ACT's brand, quality, and service standards. Collaborate with internal teams to ensure
dealers have the tools, training, and product knowledge
needed to effectively sell and support ACT solutions. Identify and analyze
market trends, competitive activities, and regional opportunities
to inform strategic decisions. Work closely with marketing to develop
promotional campaigns, sales tools, and product materials
tailored for dealer use. Partner with product management and engineering teams to
relay dealer and end-user feedback
for continuous improvement. Drive
forecast accuracy and sales performance
through regular dealer reviews and business planning sessions. Monitor dealer compliance with sales agreements, pricing programs, and brand standards. Represent ACT at
industry events, trade shows, and dealer meetings , serving as a key ambassador for the brand. Prepare regular reports for executive management summarizing sales performance, dealer metrics, and market conditions. Manage and mentor regional sales or dealer support staff as assigned. Perform other related duties as required. Skills / Other
Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills. Proven success in
channel sales, dealer development, or B2B distribution management . Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong analytical and strategic thinking capabilities. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint). Experience with CRM platforms and sales analytics tools. Understanding of
industrial battery charging, eMHE, or eGSE
markets preferred. Demonstrated ability to motivate, influence, and align cross-functional teams. Education/ Training
Bachelor's degree in Business, Sales, Marketing, or related field preferred. 7+ years of experience in dealer/channel sales or business development, including 3+ years in a leadership role. Requirements
Must be able to travel up to 50+%. Must be able to occasionally lift up to 25 pounds and participate in dealer events, product demonstrations, or trade shows. Position involves both office and field environments; expect varying working conditions.
