Position Overview The Senior Director of Marketing & Communications is a senior leadership role responsible for developing and executing integrated marketing and communications strategies that strengthen the Association’s visibility, member engagement, and professional influence.

Reporting directly to the Executive Director, this position leads the development of coordinated marketing initiatives supporting membership growth, professional education programs, conferences, research initiatives, and thought leadership within the property assessment profession.

This role ensures the organization presents a clear and consistent voice across programs, publications, digital platforms, and industry communications.

Key Responsibilities Strategic Marketing & Communications Leadership

Develop and implement the Association’s marketing, communications, and brand strategy.

Provide strategic counsel to the Executive Director and leadership team regarding communications priorities and industry visibility.

Establish short-term and long-term strategic goals for marketing and communications initiatives.

Align marketing and communications efforts with organizational priorities and strategic initiatives.

Marketing Campaigns & Organizational Messaging

Lead the development and execution of integrated marketing campaigns that support membership engagement, professional education programs, conferences, and research initiatives.

Develop messaging frameworks and communications strategies that unify the Association’s programs and services.

Ensure consistent brand positioning and messaging across publications, digital platforms, and outreach channels.

Translate strategic initiatives into effective communications and outreach efforts.

Digital Engagement & Audience Strategy

Oversee digital engagement strategies across websites, email communications, and social media platforms.

Develop audience segmentation strategies to improve engagement with key stakeholder groups.

Identify opportunities to enhance digital communications through emerging tools and technologies.

Monitor audience engagement trends and adjust communications strategies accordingly.

Marketing Analytics & Performance Measurement

Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and analytics frameworks for marketing initiatives.

Develop dashboards and reporting processes to evaluate marketing effectiveness and engagement outcomes.

Use data and analytics to inform communications strategy and improve organizational impact.

Industry Visibility & Partnerships

Promote the Association’s leadership within the property assessment profession through strategic communications and thought leadership initiatives.

Develop relationships with industry organizations, partners, and stakeholders to expand the Association’s influence.

Support initiatives that highlight the Association’s research, standards, and professional expertise.

Leadership & Collaboration

Lead and coordinate the Association’s marketing and communications functions.

Collaborate with department leaders to support organizational initiatives and priorities.

Supervise staff and support professional development within the communications team.

Qualifications Required

Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, public relations, journalism, or a related field.

Minimum 10 years of progressively responsible experience in marketing, communications, brand strategy, or a related field.

Demonstrated experience developing and executing strategic marketing and communications initiatives.

Strong leadership, collaboration, and stakeholder engagement skills.

Preferred

Master’s degree in marketing, communications, business, public relations, or related field.

Experience working in a professional association, membership organization, or mission-driven nonprofit.

Experience marketing professional education programs, conferences, credentialing programs, or member services.

Experience working with volunteer leadership, boards, or committees.
