Job Summary

Riverside Community Hospital is seeking an Internal Medicine Residency Program Director

Qualified Candidates

• Must be ABIM or AOBIM board certified in internal medicine
• Must have or be able to obtain a California medical license
• Must have a minimum of 3 years of educational or administrative GME experience in an ACGME accredited Internal Medicine Residency Program
• Must have strong administrative and team building skills
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Part-time GME (.5) and part-time clinical (.5)
• Demonstrate ongoing clinical and research activities to model core competencies for residents and faculty
• Clinical time can be outpatient clinic or hospital medicine

Program Director Responsibilities

The Program Director is a faculty member with the authority and accountability for the overall operation of the residency program. Key responsibilities include:

• Administration and Operations : Oversight of the daily operations of the program and ensuring compliance with all ACGME requirements.
• Educational Oversight : Designing and conducting the program to meet the needs of the community and the missions of the program and Sponsoring Institution.
• Competency and Environment : Maintaining a learning environment that educates residents in all ACGME Competency domains and promoting a culture of professional, respectful discussion.
• Personnel Management : Leading the recruitment, selection, evaluation, promotion, and discipline of residents.
• Faculty Management : Approving or removing faculty members at all participating sites and overseeing their evaluation and scholarly activities.
• Clinical Leadership : Serving as a role model for professionalism and high-quality patient care while maintaining ongoing clinical activity.
• Reporting structure : The Program Director reports to the DIO.
