About the Role

We are seeking an accomplished Director of Supply Chain to lead end‑to‑end supply chain strategy and execution for major shipbuilding programs. This senior role is accountable for material readiness, supplier performance, industrial base health, and logistics execution across multi‑billion‑dollar vessel design, construction, integration, and sustainment. The ideal candidate brings deep experience in defense supply chains, shipyard operations, and compliance (FAR/DFARS, ITAR/EAR), with a track record of building resilient supply networks for complex, long‑lead, and high‑criticality components.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own the supply chain strategy and operating model for naval shipbuilding programs, aligning material plans with cost, schedule, and technical baselines.
  • Lead sourcing, category management, and procurement for critical systems.
  • Develop and manage master production schedules, BOM accuracy, long‑lead and special tooling plans, make/buy decisions, and demand signals to suppliers and shipyards.
  • Drive supplier performance management—quality, OTD, capacity, cost, and risk—using KPIs, tier‑ed reviews, recovery plans, and incentive frameworks.
  • Establish and oversee logistics, warehousing, material control, and kitting processes to ensure right‑first‑time delivery to build sequences and integration milestones.
  • Implement robust risk management for single/sole‑source items, obsolescence/DMSMS, counterfeit parts prevention, cybersecurity requirements, and export controls.
  • Ensure compliance with FAR/DFARS, DPAS rated orders, Buy American/Berry Amendment (as applicable), ITAR/EAR, and internal governance standards.
  • Partner with Program Management, Engineering, Quality, Finance, and Contracts to enable design for supply, producibility, and lifecycle sustainment.
  • Lead supplier development and industrial base expansion initiatives—capacity adds, dual sourcing, qualification, and long‑term agreements with shipyards and OEMs.
