Senior Specialist, Data Protection – Managed Services KPMG is currently seeking a Senior Specialist, Data Protection to join our Managed Services practice.

The role involves designing, deploying, and managing technology and process solutions to reduce data compromise risk, advising clients on cyber security challenges, and leading engagements as a technical subject matter expert.

Responsibilities

Assist clients in designing, deploying, and managing technology and process solutions to reduce the potential of data compromise, and assist clients with developing technical requirements, evaluating vendor solutions, developing architecture & design, and testing data protection and data security solutions.

Advise clients in understanding the future state problems and challenges in cyber security and work collaboratively with them to enhance capabilities.

Help clients in providing data protection capabilities to data at rest or in motion, and assist clients with creating and testing data loss prevention rules and policies.

Contribute to KPMG's thought leadership in client organizations and external marketplace and stay up to date on industry trends around cyber risk and data protection practices.

Aid with managing engagement financials and help to coach other team members.

Guide and lead client interactions and operate as a technical subject matter specialist.

Act with integrity, professionalism, and personal responsibility to uphold KPMG's respectful and courteous work environment.

Qualifications

Minimum three years of recent experience with data protection or data loss prevention (DLP).

Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university or three years of relevant work is preferred; minimum of a high school diploma or GED is required.

Demonstrated experience in three or more of the following areas: data discovery, data classification, data tagging, data leakage/content monitoring and filtering (DLP), secure messaging/email encryption, mobile device security, Public Key Infrastructure (PKI), Data Rights Management (DRM), Secure Information Storage, CDMC framework.

Experience with Data Loss Prevention and Data Discovery and Classification vendors, solutions, and capabilities such as Microsoft AIP/MIP, Zscaler, Netskope, BigID, Dataguise, OneTrust, Privaci.ai, Informatica EDC.

Familiarity with Insider Threat and User Behavior Analytics.

Understanding of regulatory requirements and compliance issues affecting clients related to privacy and data protection, such as PCI DSS, GLBA, Basel II, EU Data Protection Directive, International Cross Border, and U.S. State Data Privacy Laws.

Ability and willingness to travel, work in a fast‑paced, results‑driven environment, grasp new technology, and contribute at a rapid pace.
