SDE2, Builder Foundations GRID

Amazon, San Francisco, CA, United States

Join Amazon's orchestration engineering team! We're seeking a Software Development Engineer II to contribute to the Center of Excellence for Orchestration (ORCA), part of the Managed Compute Runtimes (MCR) organization under BuilderWorks. You'll be working on Amazon's tier-1 multi-tenant managed runtime ecosystem that powers how 600+ teams across Amazon—from Ordering and Prime Video to Alexa, Kindle, and Kiva Robots—orchestrate their most complex business processes.

ORCA isn't just another platform—it's the orchestration brain behind Amazon's operations. Built on Herd's foundation and unifying the capabilities of KIS, Legos, Torch, and Jarvis, ORCA transforms chaotic distributed workflows into elegant, manageable systems. Available in both MAWS and Native AWS, it handles everything from real-time order processing to massive batch operations across Amazon's global infrastructure.

Every time a customer places an order, streams a video, or asks Alexa a question, your code is part of making it happen. You'll solve distributed systems puzzles that directly impact Amazon's ability to serve millions of customers while enabling engineering teams to ship faster and more reliably.
