Technical Trainer
We are seeking a skilled Technical Trainer to develop and deliver high-quality training for advanced radar and surface surveillance systems. This role supports government, military, and commercial customers, ensuring effective understanding of system fundamentals, architecture, and operational use. The ideal candidate has experience supporting aviation, defense, or complex technology training programs and is comfortable leading customer-facing training initiatives in fast-paced environments. Responsibilities: Deliver instructor-led technical training for government, aviation, and commercial customers, both in-person and virtually. Develop and customize training materials using existing technical documentation. Serve as Training Lead for assigned programs, managing schedules, milestones, and customer coordination. Provide subject matter expertise on radar fundamentals, system architecture, and operational concepts. Cross-train on multiple surveillance platforms and support material updates and continuous improvement. Coordinate with internal teams, partners, and customer stakeholders across locations. Travel domestically and internationally to support training engagements. Essential Skills: Training instruction and development Instructional training and PowerPoint proficiency Commercial training experience Strong conduct training experience Technical aptitude Knowledge of government training standards Experience with MadCap Flare, instructional design, and development Additional Skills & Qualifications: BA/BS degree in engineering, instructional design, or a related field with 8+ years of relevant experience, or MA/MS degree with 6+ years, or 12+ years of direct experience in military, aerospace, or complex technology-based training. Strong organizational and leadership skills with the ability to manage small teams. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Willingness to travel domestically and internationally (up to 35%). Experience with FAA training standards, procedures, and certification processes. Experience working on or supporting FAA, ASDE-X, ASSC, SMR, defense radar, and/or similar programs. Prior experience developing training in accordance with FAA and/or DoD requirements. Work Environment: Class sizes are small (4-10 trainees), involving both classroom instruction (PowerPoint) and hands-on lab work with equipment.
