EquityZen is looking for a detail oriented and analytical Research Analyst to join our growing team. Responsibilities: Build capitalization ("cap") tables for private companies using information found in public filings. These cap tables are a key component of the investment due diligence for investors in private companies Assist with the construction of offering documents for new private company investment offerings Complete pricing / valuation analysis for private companies Provide research for individual pre-IPO companies Work collaboratively with other teams (Sales, Operations, Compliance, Marketing, and Product) on a wide range of projects/initiatives Keep up with pre-IPO news, public filings and market trends and use insights to drive new research initiatives Qualifications: Undergraduate degree required 1-2+ years of professional experience in financial services, technology, or venture capital Fundamental investment research or analysis, preferred Demonstrated excellence in writing and communication skills; preferably for a range of audiences (technical and non-technical) to present concise content Qualified candidates may be asked to provide a writing sample during interview process Basic understanding of corporate finance and accounting concepts Desire to learn about tech companies across markets and industry verticals Strong critical thinking skills. Candidates should be able to think through investment implications of industry news/events Must be very detail-oriented, with an ability to multi-task and handle multiple priorities Desire to thrive in a collaborative environment, leveraging strong interpersonal skills Ability to present findings, implications and recommendations to colleagues and senior stakeholders Intermediate technical skills; including advanced Word, Excel and PowerPoint skills Familiarity with Pitchbook and Crunchbase is a plus Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $57,000 and $115,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.
