Senior Records Management Specialist
TeleSolv Consulting is seeking an experienced Senior Records Management Specialist to support government operations and enterprise records and information management initiatives in a high-volume, compliance-driven environment. This position supports the federal government, and all applicants must be local to the Washington, DC area. The Senior Records Management Specialist plays a critical role in supporting the Government's mission by ensuring the effective lifecycle management of records across both electronic and analog environments. This role requires advanced knowledge of records management principles, strong technical accuracy, and the ability to independently execute complex assignments while leading projects and contributing to enterprise-wide initiatives. The Specialist will support records inventory, classification, digitization, and compliance efforts while ensuring adherence to federal regulations and best practices. This position supports a Government office responsible for maintaining and preserving records of varying sensitivity, including classified and controlled information, and ensuring compliance with federal records management laws and standards. Responsibilities:
Analyze, appraise, and classify records in accordance with approved records retention schedules and federal guidelines. Identify records that require new or updated retention scheduling and provide recommendations for appropriate classification and disposition. Support the migration, digitization, and organization of records across electronic systems and physical repositories. Apply metadata standards and ensure proper indexing, storage, and retrieval of records within electronic records management systems. Perform complex searches and data analysis to retrieve and validate records and information. Prepare reports, briefings, correspondence, and training materials with a high degree of accuracy and minimal errors. Provide recommendations on records management best practices, storage solutions, and compliance improvements. Assist in developing digitization strategies, tracking progress, and ensuring compliance with federal digitization standards. Support training initiatives by contributing to the development of instructional materials and guidance related to records management. Ensure all work products meet quality assurance standards and comply with established procedures and audit requirements. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and leadership to support records management initiatives. Independently lead projects and complete complex assignments with minimal supervision. Qualifications:
Must be a U.S. Citizen. Bachelor's degree in an information management, business, or related discipline. Minimum of three (3) years of professional experience in Records and Information Management. Demonstrated experience with records appraisal, classification, and scheduling, preferably within a federal environment. Advanced knowledge of records management principles, lifecycle management, and federal regulations (e.g., NARA guidelines, Federal Records Act). Experience managing both electronic and physical records, including digitization and migration efforts. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, SharePoint, and electronic records management systems. Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently and manage complex technical assignments with minimal oversight. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to prepare detailed reports and training materials. Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy and quality assurance. Ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret (TS) security clearance and successfully complete a Tier 5 background investigation. Benefits:
