Job Description Columbia Threadneedle Investments is seeking a Senior Director, Advisor Consulting to join our Advisor Consulting & Development team. This highly visible, client‑facing role plays a critical part in shaping and delivering the insights, education, and strategic guidance that help financial advisors better serve their clients and grow their practices.
You will serve as a thought leader and subject matter expert on financial planning topics. Working closely with advisors, wealth management home offices, sales partners, and internal business stakeholders, you will help define program priorities, craft impactful content, and deliver actionable ideas that drive advisor success.
Key Responsibilities
Identify key industry trends and emerging issues impacting financial advisors, including financial wellness and holistic planning strategies.
Shape and refine strategic focus areas for the Advisor Consulting & Development program—balancing short term advisor needs with long term industry dynamics.
Deliver compelling presentations, keynote sessions, workshops, and one on one consulting to financial advisors across multiple channels.
Partner with Sales, National Accounts, and Marketing to align messaging, content, and go‑to‑market strategies.
Develop and promote actionable content, thought leadership, and messaging frameworks.
Train internal teams on program themes, insights, and delivery best practices.
Represent Columbia Threadneedle at conferences, client events, and industry forums as a subject matter expert.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree.
10–15 years of financial services experience, ideally within asset management or wealth management.
Experience working directly with financial advisors and/or clients.
Strong presentation, communication, and storytelling skills.
Proven ability to collaborate and influence across internal and external stakeholder groups.
Ability to translate complex financial planning topics into clear, practical guidance.
Experience writing thought leadership or developing high‑impact presentation content.
Preferred Qualifications
Professional credentials such as CFP®, CIMA®, or CPWA®.
Background in financial planning topics such as retirement, workplace wealth, tax strategy, or small business planning.
Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to build, shape, and scale new programs or content areas.

Our employees work in the office at least four (4) days per week, with flexibility to work from home one (1) day per week. Some roles may require additional in‑office time or different in‑office expectations, and specific requirements will be discussed during the hiring process.
Base Pay Salary The estimated base salary for this role is $171,700–$236,400/year. We have a pay‑for‑performance compensation philosophy. Your initial total compensation may vary based on job‑related knowledge, skills, experience, and geographical work location. In addition, most of our roles are eligible for variable pay in the form of bonus, commissions, and/or long‑term incentives depending on the role. We also have a competitive and comprehensive benefits program that supports all aspects of your health and well‑being, including but not limited to vacation time, sick time, 401(k), and health, dental and life insurances.
