Job Title: Structural Designer

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Structural Designer to contribute to heavy foundation and structural steel design projects, specifically within nuclear power plants. This role involves designing pipe racks to understand loads and working with small structures and tank foundations.

Responsibilities

Design and analyze heavy foundations and structural steel for nuclear power plants.

Create structural and civil designs, including for pipe racks and tank foundations.

Conduct structural calculations and design studies.

Review relevant codes, design documents, specifications, and construction documents.

Perform dynamic analysis and deep foundation design using STAAD Pro.

Participate in the emission control projects focusing on power plant ductwork.

Collaborate with multi-discipline engineers and designers.

Essential Skills

10+ years of structural/civil design and drafting experience.

Proficiency in structural design for nuclear, fossil fuel, or conventional energy projects.

Experience with structural calculations, engineering reports, and design drawings.

Familiarity with STAAD Pro, ANSYS, Mathcad, and other industry-standard engineering software.

Strong communication skills and the ability to follow instructions in accordance with established design practices.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

B.S. in Civil Engineering with a Structural focus.

Experience with seismic analysis and design for nuclear power plants.

Proficiency in AutoDesk Advance Steel.

Professional Engineering (PE) license in any state within the US, with the ability to obtain additional licenses through comity.

Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Mount Laurel, NJ.

Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $65.00/hr.
