Join our Mortgage Lending Team! Our Mortgage Lending Closing Team is looking for a Loan Closer II/III. The position responsibilities will include a combination of closing, disbursement, shipping and funding duties.

Salary: $21 or $27.50/hour minimum. Job/salary offered would be commensurate with experience.

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8 am–5 pm

GENERAL PURPOSE SUMMARY Closes complex bank held and investor mortgage loans while maintaining a high volume of loan files by performing the following essential duties and responsibilities:

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Determines and prepares necessary documents for and ensures loan file compliance with applicable loan program. Follows underwriting loan conditions, and federal, bank, and investor guidelines and regulations. Resolves discrepancies or makes recommendations to supervisor.

Reviews Preliminary Title Report and works with the title company to ensure bank is in first lien position.

Reviews as-built surveys to determine all improvements are located on the property, within our investor guidelines.

Works with mortgage loan officers and processors to obtain documentation required to comply with the investors.

Coordinates loan closing date with Title Company. Prepares and submits upon supervisor approval preliminary settlement statement for more complex bank held and investor loans to the title company.

Cross trains with shipping and funding.

Cross trains with disbursing.

Assists supervisor with making revisions to the loan closing procedures manual including developing closing procedures for new loan programs. Trains less experienced closing personnel on new and existing loan programs, and responds to inquiries from bank personnel and customers regarding mortgage loan closings.

Performs other work-related duties as assigned by supervisor.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE Minimum – Loan Closer II: Three years mortgage lending or related experience and familiarity with federal and investor regulations; or equivalent combination of education/training and experience.

Preferred: Experience in the banking industry.

Minimum – Loan Closer III: Bachelor's degree in finance, business or related field and two years mortgage loan closing related experience; or four years mortgage loan closing related experience; or equivalent combination of education/training and experience. Familiarity with federal, investor, and bank regulations.

Preferred: Working knowledge of federal, investor, and bank regulations.

OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES Ability to type 45 wpm and operate a 10-key calculator. Word processing and spreadsheet software experience required; loan documentation software experience required.

LANGUAGE SKILLS Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, customers, and the general public.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rates, ratios, interest, and percents.

REASONING SKILLS Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
