Description This role provides legal support on real estate law issues, commercial transactions, and contracts to ensure compliance and mitigate risk in the operations of the company.

Key Accountabilities

Provide support on real estate law issues relating to operations of the company, including leases, easements, construction disputes, and water and mineral rights.

Provide broad legal support to business on variety of commercial transactions and matters, including operations, transportation, pipeline, interconnection, and power purchase agreements.

Manage, draft & negotiate contracts supporting commercial needs of the company.

Support corporate development team on strategic projects.

Education, Experience & Skill Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree, J.D., law license in Texas (or other state license and willingness to become licensed in Texas).

5-8+ years of general real estate and transactional experience preferably with in‑house experience in energy.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.

Effective negotiation skills and experience.

Broad based understanding of general business practices.

Strong problem‑solving abilities.

Key Metrics

Provide effective and timely legal counsel to business with respect to real estate matters.

Cultivate effective partnerships with internal clients to identify and mitigate legal risks while achieving business objectives.

Strong skills in resolving legal and technical issues while achieving the most cost effective, flexible outcome.
