Overview and Responsibilities Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented

PAP Specialist

to join our team. This role is responsible for setting up CPAP equipment for patients and providing education and support. This position is available in states where a licensed Respiratory Therapist is not required. In the State of CO, this position pays between $20/hr – $23/hr., depending on related experience, plus bonus opportunity.

Set up CPAP, BiPAP, and related equipment for patients in accordance with company protocols and manufacturer guidelines.

Educate patients on proper equipment use, cleaning, and maintenance.

Conduct mask fittings and troubleshoot comfort or compliance issues.

Document patient interactions, setup details, and follow-up plans in the electronic medical record system.

Coordinate with clinical teams and customer service to ensure timely delivery and setup.

Monitor patient compliance data and elevate concerns to clinical leadership as needed.

Maintain inventory of PAP supplies and ensure equipment is clean, functional, and ready for use.

Provide compassionate, patient-centered service in all interactions.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications Employment is contingent on

Drug screen (when applicable for the position)

Compliance with healthcare facility credentialing process (when applicable for the position)

Valid driver’s license in state of residence with a clean driving record (when applicable for the position)

Required Education and/or Experience

High school diploma or GED equivalent, required

Must meet state-specific requirements for non-licensed PAP setup personnel

Preferred Education and/or Experience

Background in the medical field with experience in administrative record management, preferred

Experience working with medical equipment, preferred

Familiarity with medical billing processes and reimbursement procedures, preferred

Knowledge of medical terminology, preferred

Minimum of one year of related work experience, preferred

Prior experience in DME, sleep therapy, or patient-facing healthcare roles strongly preferred

Basic computer proficiency and familiarity with EMR systems

Knowledge of CPAP/BiPAP equipment and accessories

Experience with patient education and compliance monitoring

Bilingual skills a plus.

Skills and Competencies

Ability to interpret various forms of communication, including verbal, non-verbal, written, and visual

Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations accurately

Capable of working independently as well as collaboratively within a team

Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion when handling sensitive information

Self-motivated, organized, and able to manage time and solve problems using deductive reasoning

Strong attention to detail with the ability to multi-task effectively

Strong English communication skills, both written and verbal

Machines, Equipment and Technical Abilities

Ability to navigate the internet and conduct online research

Ability to operate standard office equipment, including fax machines, copiers, printers, phones, and computers/tablets

Proficiency with email communication platforms

Working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel

Understands use of all applicable home respiratory equipment and supplies

Understands use of CPAP/BI-PAP equipment and supplies

Mechanically inclined for the repair and troubleshooting of equipment

Physical Demands

Ability to lift and carry office equipment when needed

Ability to read small print on screens and documents, requiring close vision

Ability to sit, stand, walk, talk, and listen for extended periods

Requires lifting (minimum of 65 pounds) and transporting of patient equipment

Requires contact with patients and equipment with potential exposure to contagious pathogens

Requires driving a company vehicle for the majority of the workday
