The Opportunity Niigata, Inc. is seeking an experienced Regional Sales Manager
to expand our presence across the Midwest region.
Niigata is globally recognized for building
high-rigidity horizontal machining centers designed for demanding applications
in industries such as aerospace, defense, energy, heavy equipment, and precision manufacturing.
This role is ideal for a
high-performing machine tool salesperson
who understands complex manufacturing environments and enjoys building long‑term partnerships with leading manufacturers.
You will be responsible for developing new business, expanding existing accounts, and driving machine tool sales through both direct engagement and independent distributors.
What You'll Be Selling Niigata machines are known worldwide for:
·Exceptional rigidity and stability for heavy‑duty machining
·Proven performance in titanium, steel, and high‑strength alloys
·Large horizontal machining centers designed for high‑precision production
·Reliability in demanding industries such as aerospace, defense, energy, rail, shipbuilding, and heavy equipment manufacturing
Our customers depend on Niigata machines for mission‑critical machining operations , where accuracy, reliability, and long‑term performance matter.
Territory This position will manage the
Midwest region
and requires regular travel to support customers and distributor partners.
The role is
home office based , with travel to:
Customer manufacturing facilities
Distributor partners
Trade shows and industry events
Niigata USA headquarters
Travel within the region is expected.
Key Responsibilities Territory Development
·Identify and develop new sales opportunities within the assigned territory
·Expand relationships with existing Niigata customers
·Penetrate new accounts within target industries including aerospace, defense, energy, and heavy equipment manufacturing
·Work closely with independent sales representatives to drive sales activity
·Provide product training and support to distributor partners
·Develop joint territory strategies to maximize market coverage
Technical Sales & Solution Development
·Work directly with customers’ manufacturing engineering and management teams to identify machining challenges
·Develop machine tool proposals tailored to customer requirements
·Coordinate with internal engineering and applications teams to deliver complete machining solutions
Sales Process Management
·Manage the complete sales cycle including prospecting, quoting, negotiation, and order execution
·Maintain accurate forecasting and pipeline reporting
·Support machine demonstrations, trade shows, and technical presentations
Qualifications Required
·10+ years of experience in machine tool sales or advanced manufacturing equipment sales
·Strong understanding of CNC machining processes and manufacturing environments
·Proven track record of developing new business and managing large manufacturing accounts
·Experience working with machine tool distributors or independent sales representatives
·Strong presentation and communication skills
Preferred
·Experience selling horizontal machining centers or large CNC machining platforms
·Existing relationships with manufacturers in aerospace, energy, or heavy equipment sectors
·Background in manufacturing engineering or machining
