Position Overview We are seeking a skilled Enterprise Email Systems Administrator to join our dynamic IT team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in designing, implementing, and managing email and messaging services within a federal IT framework. Your focus will be on ensuring secure and highly available Microsoft Exchange services that integrate seamlessly with Active Directory, Office 365, and Azure, aligned with our mission and business objectives. As part of our infrastructure operations team, you will troubleshoot messaging issues, manage timely patching and upgrades, and uphold security and compliance standards. You will work collaboratively with stakeholders and follow established operational procedures in a hybrid work environment across multiple locations. Key Responsibilities Design and implement Microsoft Exchange services, ensuring optimal performance and security within an enterprise setting.

Administer Active Directory to support messaging, managing account, group, and policy configurations necessary for email operations.

Manage SMTP relays and their configurations to guarantee compliance and efficient mail flow across all domains.

Oversee daily operations of the email system, including incident resolution, ticket management, and on-site support as required.

Maintain and upgrade Exchange systems along with components like Active Directory, Office 365, Azure, and email filtering solutions.

Monitor email traffic, track messages, recover mailboxes, and document all actions thoroughly.

Apply necessary Microsoft updates and patches in line with change management processes and security protocols.

Develop and maintain disaster recovery plans for Exchange and Active Directory, encompassing backup and restore procedures.

Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or relevant experience equivalent to a Network Administrator II role.

At least 5 years of administration experience with Microsoft Exchange 2010 or newer, including a minimum of 1 year within the last 2 years.

Minimum 5 years of Active Directory administration experience, with at least 1 year's experience within the last 2 years.

2+ years of hands-on experience with PowerShell for Exchange management and automation.

Active Secret clearance (or the ability to obtain and maintain Secret) and eligibility for IT-I Critical Sensitive designation.

IAT Level II certification (Security+ or higher), and at least one certification in a computing environment (e.g., MCSE 2016, MCSA: Windows Server 2016, Microsoft 365/Azure administrator certification).

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, keen attention to detail, and a proven ability to follow complex operational procedures.

Preferred Qualifications Experience administering email and directory services in a federal IT or similar regulated environment.

Familiarity with operating Exchange across multiple security enclaves or segmented networks.

Hands-on experience with Azure AD, Office 365 hybrid deployments, and modern email filtering platforms.

Experience in developing or maintaining disaster recovery plans for messaging systems.

Compensation Ranges Compensation for this role ranges from $65,400 to $107,900, depending on various factors such as skill set, education, certifications, and experience.
