Bilingual Member Service Representative (Teller)

Primary Function This position exists to provide exceptional member service by greeting members, completing transactions, resolving problems, and recommending credit union products and services in an efficient, courteous, and timely manner.
The Member Service Representative is responsible for handling currency, coin, and negotiable items while consistently projecting a professional and positive image to members.
Key Responsibilities Member Service & Transactions
Deliver accurate, timely, and friendly service during all member interactions
Process member transactions efficiently, ensuring a positive experience
Assist members with questions, concerns, and problem resolution
Provide information on products and services, making appropriate referrals
Achieve satisfactory service referral goals
Cash Handling & Operations
Maintain and balance cash drawer and daily transactions accurately
Balance vault, ATM, recycler, and coin‑counting machines daily
Process night drop and mail payments
Handle credit/debit card advances
Scan, process, and balance checks
Open and close subshare accounts
Branch Operations
Perform all opening and closing procedures
Maintain a clean, organized, and professional workspace
Support overall branch efficiency and operations
Communication & Development
Actively communicate with leadership regarding goals and development
Take accountability for performance and strive for continuous improvement
Participate in meetings and required training programs
Service Excellence Commitments
Create a strong first impression through professionalism and positivity
Maintain a friendly and engaging tone in person and on the phone
Provide prompt service, including answering calls by the third ring
Address members by name and show appreciation
Take ownership of member concerns and ensure resolution
Follow through on commitments with urgency and accuracy
Protect confidential information at all times
General Responsibilities
Promote credit union products and services
Build and maintain positive community relationships
Support team initiatives and branch goals
Complete ongoing education and training
Perform additional duties as assigned
Qualifications Required
High School diploma or equivalent
1–3 years of related experience (banking, retail, or customer service preferred)
Cash handling experience with strong attention to detail
Ability to accurately receive and disburse funds
Skills & Attributes
Excellent communication and organizational skills
Professional, outgoing, and service‑oriented personality
Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities
Ability to perform effectively under pressure
Sales aptitude with a consultative approach
Team‑oriented mindset with a positive attitude
Working knowledge of financial or credit union operations (preferred)
Basic computer proficiency
Sound decision‑making skills
