What You Will Do The Contractor Sales Representative (CSR) will customarily and regularly sell products and services offered by 84 Lumber to current and new clientele away from the store locations. The role involves building a book of business, creating positive customer relationships, and may involve additional duties assigned by the Store Manager.
Responsibilities
Build and maintain a network of sources to identify new sales leads
Communicate with customers and leads to identify and understand their product or service needs
Identify and suggest products and services that meet those needs
Demonstrate the functions and utility of products or services based on customer needs
Ensure customer satisfaction through ongoing communication and relationship management; resolve any post‑sale issues
Maintain communication with existing and previous customers, alerting them of new products, services, and enhancements of interest
Maintain detailed reports of sales activities including calls, orders, sales, lost business, and any customer or vendor relationship problems
Qualifications
Create and continually grow a book of business and acquire new customers
Create material estimates/read blueprints
Source special order material
Respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers
Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
Ability to function in a high‑paced and sometimes stressful environment
Reading prints
Creating material estimates
Sourcing special orders
