We are seeking an Architecture and Engineering Designer II to join American Tower’s Engineering team. The Engineering team is responsible for maintaining the safety and longevity of our towers and ensures a high level of compliance with industry standards. Day to day you will develop A&E drawings for zoning and construction on more complex wireless tower sites, collocation amendments activities and backup power installations. As an Architecture and Engineering Designer II, you will partner cross‑functionally to draft templates for prototypical designs for program development and other CAD services as required.

What You Can Offer Us

Prepare A&E drawings including tower and compound equipment for new sites and collocation/amendment activities.

Develop CAD library of previous A&E documents, templates and details to optimize design effort.

Coordinate with A&E team and equipment vendors to incorporate vendor equipment data into documents.

Provide training to less experienced Designers.

Coordinate CAD services and billing with administrative staff to ensure completion on a timely basis.

Evaluate work priorities and align resources to meet required work cycle times. Perform detailed QA/QC of drawings.

Approximately 5% of time role will be performed outside conventional office environment.

What You Need to Succeed

Associates degree in a related field preferred.

Preferred experience includes at least one of the following:

1 year of Revit experience preferred.

A minimum of 4 years of experience in the telecom industry.

A minimum of 5 years of experience in steel fabrication detailing.

A minimum of 4 years of experience with structural/AE/MEP detailing.

A minimum of 2 years of experience with AutoCAD, 2010 or higher, Civil 3D and Autoturn required.

A minimum of 4 years of experience with AutoCAD required.

Familiarity with grading, stormwater design and preparing temples for road design using Civil 3D, Land Desktop, Autoturn or other similar versions, preferred.

Approximately 5% travel may be required in support of the position’s responsibilities.

Strong written and oral communication skills, including the ability to present ideas and suggestions clearly and effectively.

Ability to work with different functional groups and levels of employees to effectively and professionally achieve results.

Strong organizational skills; ability to accomplish multiple tasks within the agreed upon timeframes through effective prioritization of duties and functions in a fast‑paced environment.
