Summary The primary responsibilities of the Mortgage Loan Closer include preparing final closing documents, ensuring closing documentation is complete, accurate, and compliant with applicable rules and regulations.
Essential Functions
Create excellent service experiences that promote the Veridian brand.
Work with members, realtors and closing agents to set up closing date and time, send closing calendar invites to all parties.
Prepare loan for closing by gathering property tax information, proof homeowner’s insurance with updated mortgagee clause, payoffs, verbal verification of employment (VVOE) and additional items as necessary.
Prepare, review and approve the Closing Disclosure. Deliver preliminary and final closing disclosures to members in a timely manner and in compliance with TRID guidelines.
Prepare final closing documents to ensure all required documents including closing instructions are sent to closing agent and that the information is compliant with internal, regulatory and investor requirements (TILA, RESPA, etc.).
Balance closing figures with closing agent, verify tolerances are within guidelines and disclosed fees.
Verify and send net funding amount to closing agent, complete loan disbursement worksheet.
Run compliance check and uniform closing dataset (UCD).
Represent the credit union in contact and status inquiries with realtors, attorneys, vendors and members. Work with all parties to resolve any settlement issues prior to closing.
Maintain accurate and timely follow-up on all closed mortgage loans. Follow up on pre-closing and post-closing conditions which include compliance with secondary market follow-up documentation and funding.
Maintain pipeline management including assistance with monitoring rate, funding, and delivery expiration dates.
Contribute positively to team effort by consistently achieving established goals and expectations.
Ability, availability, and willingness to work additional hours to accommodate loan volume during periods of peak demand.

Required Education And Experience
High School Diploma.
2+ years of work experience in a financial institution or related field.
Fluent computer skills in a Microsoft Windows environment. Must include Outlook, Word, and Excel.
Preferred Education And Experience
Lending or first mortgage closing/processing experience.
Knowledge of loan procedures, related legal and regulatory requirements.
