EBSCO is excited to announce an opening for a motivated Cybersecurity Operations Intern to join our dynamic Security Operations team. This unique internship allows you to become a valued member of the SecOps organization, collaborating with cybersecurity professionals across IT, Network, Engineering, and Security Architecture disciplines.
In this position, you'll gain hands-on experience in crucial areas such as real-time monitoring, incident response, and threat intelligence, helping you build a strong foundation in security operations practices. What You'll Do
Operational Monitoring & Incident Response
Investigate potential security issues using various security tools. Utilize XDR, SIEM, cloud tooling, and endpoint detection platforms. Take part in regular incident response exercises. Contribute to investigations and optimize security alerts.
Security Tools, Automation & Process Improvement
Assist in managing and tuning security tools and processes. Collaborate with IT, Engineering, Network, and Security Architecture teams. Support vulnerability management and remediation efforts. Drive operational improvements through scripting and automation.
Cloud & Infrastructure Security
Gain experience securing AWS Public Cloud and hybrid cloud environments. Work with AWS technologies such as Route53, Direct Connect, WAF, CloudWatch, and Config. Ensure infrastructure aligns with compliance standards like FedRAMP, ISO 27001, NIST CSF, and SOC frameworks.
Team Engagement
Participate in on-call rotations. Enhance the SecOps team culture through documentation, communication, and problem-solving skills.
About You Pursuing a Degree in a technical or business discipline. Experience with automation scripting (Python, PowerShell), Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation), or DevOps/DevSecOps is a plus. Desire to learn about IT security and incident management processes. What Sets You Apart Exposure to security incident investigation and management, along with familiarity with common security tools (SIEM, Vulnerability Scanners, XDR). Understanding of securing AWS Public Cloud and Hybrid Cloud environments. AWS-specific skills in Networking (Route53, Direct Connect) and Security (WAF, Config, CloudWatch) are preferred. Security Certifications (CompTIA Security, CISSP, CEH, GSEC) or plans to earn them are advantageous. Experience in defining and implementing network environments in compliance with security policies, such as FEDRAMP, ISO 27001, and NIST frameworks. Pay Range USD $20.00 - USD $26.00 /Hr.
