ROSEN is looking for a Cathodic Protection Technician that will be based in Houston, Texas. This position reports directly to the Head of Operations, Non Destructive Testing and will be a part of the Extended Integrity team.
What role you will play in our team
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Cathodic Protection (CP) Technician to join our non‑destructive testing team. In this role, you will collect field data in support of external corrosion direct assessment campaigns, as well as general cathodic protection survey data. The ideal candidate is detail‑oriented, comfortable working outdoors, and experienced with CP testing equipment and industry standards.
Responsibilities: What will I be doing?
Perform routine inspections, testing, and maintenance of CP systems, including Rectifiers, Anode beds, Test stations, Ground beds, Bonds and isolation devices.
Conduct line locating, Close Interval Surveys (CIS), Direct Current Voltage Gradient (DCVG) surveys, and Large Stand‑off Magnetometry (LSM) surveys.
Record, analyze, and interpret CP data to ensure compliance with regulatory and company standards.
Troubleshoot system deficiencies and recommend corrective actions.
Prepare detailed field reports, documentation, and drawings.
Ensure compliance with applicable codes and standards (e.g., NACE/AMPP, DOT/PHMSA, API).
Work safely in accordance with company policies, environmental regulations, and job site requirements.
Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and field crews to support projects and campaigns.
REQUIREMENTS What are we looking for?
Education
High school diploma or equivalent
NACE/AMPP CP2 certification
Experience
Minimum 3 years experience in cathodic protection testing, installation, or maintenance
Qualification or Skills: Technical/Functional Skills
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, maps, and CP system schematics
Proficiency with CP testing equipment (multimeters, data loggers, interrupters, GPS devices)
Strong problem‑solving skills and attention to details
Ability to work outdoors in varying conditions and travel to job sites
Comfortable walking long distances during surveys
Physical Requirements
Walking 1–5 miles continuously while carrying 40 lbs (ground level)
Squatting/leaning 1x per hour, up to 5x per day (ground level)
