Bloomberg’s Evaluated Pricing (BVAL) business is a market leader in fixed income pricing and the official pricing provider to Bloomberg Indices. BVAL produces evaluated prices for over 2.5 million bonds multiple times daily, serving buy-side, sell-side, and custodial clients. The Role: BVAL Evaluators are capital markets professionals responsible for applying relevant and advanced valuation models that leverage Bloomberg’s in-house analytics to deliver high-quality pricing data to front office, middle office, and operations teams.
We are seeking a valuation and credit specialist for the BVAL Municipal Evaluation team to help enhance our municipal pricing capabilities, deliver accurate evaluated prices, and provide strong client support. The team is composed of experienced professionals, including former traders, portfolio managers, and research analysts.
We’ll Trust You To:
Design and support valuation models and systems that provide evaluated prices for municipal securities.
Collaborate with BVAL team members, Business Development, and Engineering to develop and refine municipal product offerings.
Support clients who use BVAL prices for NAV, P&L, and risk analytics.
Engage in discussions regarding market conditions, valuation methodologies, and pricing inquiries with colleagues and clients.
Partner with cross-functional teams to improve workflows, enhance operational efficiency, and support downstream sales and business initiatives.
Apply Bloomberg’s in-house analytics, incorporating credit fundamentals, market drivers, and bond structures to produce accurate and defensible pricing.
You’ll Need To Have:
3+ years of experience trading, investing, originating, or analyzing municipal securities (across any sector or focus area within the municipal market).
Demonstrated understanding of fixed income markets, including market drivers, bond structures, analytics, and pricing methodologies.
Strong Excel skills, including financial modeling, statistical analysis, and experience working with large datasets to support valuation model development.
Experience clearly articulating complex valuation methodologies to both internal stakeholders and external clients.
We’d Love to See:
Familiarity with the Bloomberg Terminal
Experience in credit analysis and evaluation
Technical proficiency in tools such as VBA, SQL, Apache Superset, and/or Python
Demonstrated ability to navigate complex systems, including databases and analytical platforms
Experience collaborating with engineering teams in time-sensitive environments
Salary Range = 160000 - 210000 USD Annually + Benefits + Bonus
The referenced salary range is based on the Company's good faith belief at the time of posting. Actual compensation may vary based on factors such as geographic location, work experience, market conditions, education/training and skill level.
