Social Media & Production Intern Out East Musical New York, NY US 03/18/2026

Playbill, Inc., New York, NY, United States

The creative team behind the hilarious OUT EAST: A New Musical Comedy is seeking a Part‑Time Production & Social Media Intern to join us in the early stages of development, leading up to a staged reading on May 28th at Playwrights Downtown . The team is interested in working closely with a candidate who is passionate about digital content creation, musical theater, and storytelling.

About the Show

OUT EAST: A New Musical Comedy (book/lyrics by Ava Roberts and music by Chelsea Zak) is about the most obnoxious people you're still dying to get to know.

Harper is a seventeen‑year‑old who believes that spending her time summering in the Hamptons … “Out East,” if you will … is somehow the end of the world. Her mom is marrying into an old money family (don’t ask how they got rich, ‘cuz we don’t know), complete with two new stepsiblings and an unfamiliar life.

Topped off with a love triangle and innumerable jokes about your least favorite men in finance, OUT EAST: A New Musical Comedy is a fresh, Gen Z‑centered satire of New York’s elite.
