Position Description

The Director of Sales is a strategic and results-driven leader responsible for driving sales performance, managing the sales team, and executing sales strategies to achieve revenue and growth targets for the assigned Davidson Homes division. This leadership role will focus on cultivating strong client relationships, optimizing sales team performance, and ensuring alignment with overall company objectives.

Key Responsibilities

Sales Leadership and Team Management

  • Recruit, onboard, train, and coach sales team members to optimize performance.
  • Develop, implement, and communicate clear sales goals, performance metrics, and individual development plans.
  • Foster a collaborative, high-performance culture that encourages accountability, continuous improvement, and exceptional customer service.
  • Regularly assess the team's progress and provide constructive feedback to ensure targets are met.

Sales Strategy and Execution

  • Drive sales strategies through market analysis, competitor research, and trends analysis to maximize profitability and market share.
  • Develop and execute annual sales plans, setting clear quotas and performance benchmarks for the team.
  • Implement effective advertising, merchandising, and promotional programs to support sales objectives.
  • Identify new market opportunities, define customer requirements, and recommend pricing and product strategies.

Financial Management and Budgeting

  • Forecast sales goals, prepare and manage annual budgets, and track financial performance against targets.
  • Identify sales trends, monitor variances, and take corrective action as necessary to ensure financial targets are achieved.
  • Monitor costs, competition, and market demand to optimize pricing strategies and profitability.
  • Work closely with departments such as marketing, construction, and finance to ensure alignment of sales initiatives and operational efficiency.
  • Participate in strategic planning meetings to contribute insights and recommendations that support broader company objectives.
  • Support the development of new products, services, and market expansion efforts.

Client Relationship Management

  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with key clients, ensuring customer satisfaction and loyalty.
  • Ensure smooth communication and coordination between sales, marketing, and customer service teams to meet client expectations.

Data-Driven Decision Making

  • Collect, analyze, and interpret sales and market data to inform decision-making processes.
  • Regularly review key performance indicators (KPIs) and adjust sales strategies accordingly.

Compliance and Confidentiality

  • Adhere to all organizational policies, procedures, and industry regulations.
  • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive company and client information.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field.
  • 5 to 10 years of experience in sales, with at least 5 years in a leadership role within the homebuilding industry.
  • Strong understanding of mortgage programs, homebuilding processes, and sales strategies.
  • Proven experience in leading sales teams, managing territories, setting and achieving sales quotas, and overseeing competitive analysis.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire teams.
  • Experience developing and executing sales and marketing strategies that deliver measurable results.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Ability to think creatively and analytically to solve complex sales and marketing challenges.
  • Active real estate license (requirements may vary by state).
  • Proficient in using a CRM system to manage sales pipelines, team performance, and closing processes.
  • Experience managing sales across multiple regions or product lines.
