Air & Ocean Inside Sales – Leading Freight Forwarder | Chicago, IL

Are you a driven logistics professional with a passion for building customer relationships and driving new business?

Our client — a leading global freight forwarder — is seeking an Inside Sales Representative to join their dynamic Air & Ocean Freight team based in Chicago, IL.

About the Role

You’ll play a key part in supporting the growth of international freight forwarding operations by generating new leads, developing existing accounts, and providing exceptional customer service. Working closely with operations and management, you’ll help create tailored logistics solutions that meet client needs across both air and ocean verticals.

Key Responsibilities

• Identify and qualify new business opportunities through inbound and outbound channels
• Develop and maintain relationships with existing clients to drive repeat business
• Prepare and present competitive freight quotes for air and ocean shipments
• Collaborate with operations to ensure smooth execution of shipments
• Maintain accurate CRM records of all sales activity and follow-ups
• Work closely with outside sales and management teams to achieve company targets

What We’re Looking For

• 2+ years’ experience in freight forwarding sales (air and/or ocean)
• Operations experience
• Strong understanding of international logistics, Incoterms, and rate structures
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills
• Self‑motivated, results‑oriented, and customer‑focused
• Proficient in MS Office and CRM systems (CargoWise experience a plus)
