SVP Austin’s initiatives primarily serve Central Texas, including Travis, Williamson, Hays, Caldwell, and Burnet counties.
The Opportunity
Social Venture Partners Austin seeks a visionary, entrepreneurial, and relationship‑driven Executive Director to lead the organization into its next phase of growth and impact.
This leader will serve as the organization’s chief executive, fundraiser, and public ambassador, responsible for advancing SVP Austin’s mission while expanding its network of engaged philanthropists, strengthening partnerships across the nonprofit sector, and increasing the organization’s visibility and influence in the Central Texas social impact ecosystem.
Reporting to the Board of Directors, the Executive Director will guide the organization’s strategy, grow membership and revenue, deepen community partnerships, and ensure the organization continues to deliver meaningful support to nonprofit partners.

Strategic Priorities
The Executive Director will play a central role in advancing SVP Austin’s strategic priorities:
- Strengthen the Community of Engaged Philanthropists Expand and deepen a network of members committed to using their expertise, relationships, and resources to drive social impact.
- Advance Opportunity in Central Texas Support nonprofit and social enterprise partners that are addressing systemic barriers and expanding opportunity for historically underserved communities.
- Build Capacity Across the Nonprofit Sector Provide strategic consulting, mentorship, and financial resources that help nonprofit organizations strengthen operations, leadership, and long‑term sustainability.
- Catalyze Collaborative Solutions Develop partnerships with corporations, foundations, public sector leaders, and community organizations to align efforts and accelerate impact.
- Leverage the Global SVP Network Engage with SVPI and partner chapters worldwide to exchange ideas, adopt best practices, and strengthen SVP Austin’s impact.
The Role
The Executive Director will lead SVP Austin’s strategy, operations, and external engagement while serving as the organization’s primary spokesperson and relationship builder.
This role requires a highly collaborative leader who can inspire philanthropists, cultivate strategic partnerships, and strengthen the organization’s reputation as a trusted connector within the Central Texas nonprofit ecosystem.
Key areas of responsibility include:
Organizational Leadership
- Guide the organization’s strategic direction in partnership with the Board of Directors and ensure effective implementation of SVP Austin’s mission and strategic objectives.
- Provide strong operational oversight, ensuring effective management of programs, partnerships, and organizational resources.
- Foster a collaborative and inclusive organizational culture that reflects the values of community engagement, partnership, and impact.
Membership Growth and Fundraising
- Lead the organization’s fundraising strategy and membership growth initiatives.
- Cultivate relationships with philanthropists, corporate partners, foundations, and community leaders to expand SVP Austin’s network and financial resources.
- Develop innovative approaches to engaging members in philanthropic investment and pro‑bono service.
Community Engagement and Partnerships
- Serve as SVP Austin’s primary ambassador and storyteller.
- Represent the organization across the nonprofit, philanthropic, business, and civic sectors.
- Build strong partnerships that align stakeholders around shared goals and collaborative solutions.
Board Partnership and Governance
- Work closely with the Board of Directors to ensure strong governance, strategic alignment, and organizational sustainability.
- Support board engagement in fundraising, membership recruitment, and community leadership.
Global Network Engagement
Actively participate in the global Social Venture Partners network, leveraging insights, programs, and relationships from partner chapters around the world.

- Successful candidates will likely bring many of the following qualifications:
Leadership and Strategic Vision
- At least eight years of leadership or senior management experience in nonprofit, philanthropic, corporate, or entrepreneurial settings
- Experience guiding organizations through growth, innovation, or strategic transformation
- Ability to inspire and influence stakeholders across sectors
Fundraising and Revenue Development
- Demonstrated success in fundraising, business development, or membership‑based revenue generation
- Strong ability to cultivate and steward relationships with donors, partners, and community leaders
Relationship Building and Collaboration
- Exceptional interpersonal and networking skills
- Experience building partnerships across nonprofit, business, and civic sectors
- Ability to lead through influence in collaborative environments
Entrepreneurial Mindset
- Comfort working in dynamic, evolving organizations
- Ability to identify opportunities, mobilize stakeholders, and drive initiatives forward
Sector Knowledge
- Familiarity with philanthropy, nonprofit capacity building, or social impact initiatives preferred
- Business, consulting, or entrepreneurial experience is welcomed and valued
A preference is given to candidates holding a bachelor's or master's degree, although individuals with equivalent professional experience will also be considered.
Location
This position is based in Austin, Texas.
While the organization supports flexible work arrangements, the Executive Director must reside in the Austin metropolitan area and be available for regular in‑person meetings, events, and community engagement.
Compensation
This is a full‑time exempt leadership position. The salary range for the Executive Director is $100,000 - $120,000 annually (based on experience and selected benefits), with opportunities for future growth based on organizational performance, fundraising success, and strategic expansion.
