Job Overview
The Director of Salesforce, University Information Services (UIS) leverages native Salesforce functionality, custom Apex development, and integrations with external systems to deliver results that align with the organization’s mission. This role involves collaborating with stakeholders to translate requirements into effective Salesforce solutions, prioritizing native functionality and strategic customization. This position also supports data-driven workflows and reporting and participates in code reviews to ensure high-quality development practices.
Responsibilities
- Collaborating with stakeholders, including but not limited to the Office of Advancement, to translate requirements into effective Salesforce solutions.
- Developing, testing, documenting, and deploying custom Salesforce features and integrations.
- Participating in code reviews to ensure high-quality development practices.
- Monitoring system performance and proactively resolving issues affecting the Salesforce environment.
- Serving as a technical lead for the Salesforce ecosystem and defining best practices.
- Maintaining ownership of the Salesforce ecosystem, including architecture and data integrations.
Work Interactions
This position collaborates with stakeholders, the Associate Vice President – Solutions Engineering and IT Services, Director of Platform Development, and UX professionals to assess and plan for evolving system needs. The work is essential to ensuring a scalable and high-performing Salesforce environment. This role will also work with technical and non-technical stakeholders to manage and support the platform.
Requirements and Qualifications
Minimum amount and type of practical experience: A minimum of five (5) years of experience as a Salesforce Developer or related information technology experience, including work with enterprise-level databases. Proven expertise in Salesforce platform development (Salesforce Certified Platform Developer I and Salesforce Certified Mulesoft Developer is required), customization, and integration with tools like Apex, validation rules, custom objects, and page layouts.
Technical qualifications and certifications: Expertise in Salesforce administration - Salesforce Certified Platform Developer II is preferred - (roles, profiles, record types, reports), APIs, data management tools (e.g., data loader), and handling data exchange formats (XML, JSON, CSV). Familiarity with Apex/Visualforce, data modeling, and schema design is required.

Pay Range
$80,429.00 - $157,238.93
