Director, Asset Management - REO

Macdonald & Company is partnered with a leading West Coast private real estate credit and investment platform in the search for a Director of Asset Management - REO.

Our client is an established, vertically integrated real estate lender and alternative investment manager with a multi-billion-dollar origination track record and a substantial active servicing portfolio. Backed by institutional capital and a strong balance sheet, the firm manages the full lifecycle of its investments in-house and continues to expand its footprint nationally. The organization has been recognized for sustained growth and disciplined execution in the private credit space.

Key Responsibilities

• The Director will oversee a portfolio of real estate assets that have transitioned through the lending cycle, driving leasing, repositioning, and monetization strategies designed to maximize recoveries and protect investor capital. The mandate includes strategic decision-making around highest and best use, broker engagement, targeted capital deployment, and execution of disposition strategies.
• Reporting into senior risk leadership, this position is designed as part of a broader succession plan and offers long-term runway within a growing platform.

Experience & Education

• Experience managing real estate assets within a debt platform, credit fund, or opportunistic investment manager
• Comfort navigating loan documents, workouts, and complex capital structures
• Strong analytical and reporting capabilities paired with sound commercial judgment
• The ability to negotiate and communicate effectively with borrowers, brokers, legal counsel, and executive stakeholders
• A collaborative approach within a performance-driven environment

Hybrid schedule with at least two days in-office.
