TheSeniorPortfolioManager(Sr.PM)demonstratesadvancedproficiencyinsupportingRelationshipManager(RM)saleseffortsthroughthegrowth,developmentandeffectivemanagementofloanportfolios,helpingensurepositiveperformance.TheSr.PMworksindependently to assess risk by evaluating, designing and overseeing all aspects of the portfolioconstruction, and drives profitability by performing advanced and/or broad financial and creditanalysis;managesclientrelationshipsindependentlyandinconjunctionwiththeRM.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
- Applyanadvancedlevelofcreditknowledge,servingasaresourceforthe RMteam and market as a whole.
- Effectivelyusenegotiation skills with a strong focus on the sales process, operating as a bridge between Sales and Credit.
- Review documents for pre- and post-closing including the submission of pre-requisite and recurring credit source documentation to the bank’s imaging system.
- Prepare, review, and monitor reports to ensure FirstBank guidelines for compliance and credit monitoring are being met.
- Analyze complex credit requests and perform financial statement analysis utilizing the bank’s standardized analysis tools.
- Prepare, review, and monitor reports analyzing loan commitments and outstanding balances by customer, loan type, property type, location, size, etc., responsible for report preparation for board approval.
- Partner with market leadership, Regional Presidents, and Regional Credit Officers in support of the RMs to promote client portfolio growth and strong asset quality
- Monitor past due information and future maturities, alerting the RMs as needed.
- Perform the analysis of key financial metrics for input in commercial loan risk rating matrices to ensure accurate stratification of the bank’s commercial loan grading portfolio.
- Demonstrate an advanced understandingoffinancialspreads,modeling,andmonitoring.
- Performresearchtomaintaincurrentknowledgeofindustrytrendsandchanges,ensuringthePMteamremainscompliantwithbothFirstBankandindustrystandards.
- Mayleadothersanduseadvancedportfoliomanagementskillstodeveloptheskill set of thePMteam.
- Attend internal and client meetings independently representing the PM and/or RM teams as needed.
- Function as part of the RM team as a capable secondary point of contact for commercial clients
- Model consistent, distinctive service to all customers when delivering the FirstBank service experience.
- Practice safe and sound bank procedures, including adherence to applicable laws and regulations, internal controls, operational procedures, risk management policies, and security protocols.
- Provide independent analysis of credit requests and provide an effective challenge in loan approval and grading.
- Ensure source documentation and credit analysis are accurate and supported.
- Regular andreliableattendance.

Education And/or Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in finance or similar field preferred
- Experience in banking portfolio management required; possess extensive knowledge of various loan structures and have the ability to apply this knowledge in the formulation of sound credit recommendations
- Strong verbal and written communications; one-on-one and in team environments
- Ability to identify strengths and weaknesses of individual requests and make recommendations to address and mitigate perceived risks
- Ability to allocate time effectively and independently to prioritize timelines
- Strong personal organizational and time management skills
