Finance Director - Benson

Overview

The City of Benson has an exciting career opportunity open for the position of full-time Finance Director.

Responsibilities

• Direct and oversee the planning, implementation, and management of the City’s financial accounting functions.
• Prepare and administer the City’s annual operating budget, risk management, managing general ledger accounting functions, annual audit, payroll, reconciling of accounts, month end, investing public funds, tracking of fixed assets, journalizing transactions, and generating computer related reports.
• Oversee utility billing functions, liquor store operations, human resources, and lead and supervise the front office staff.

Qualifications

• Desired qualifications: Bachelors degree in Accounting, 5 years governmental accounting and payroll experience, considerable Microsoft Excel and Word software skills.
• Minimum qualifications: 2-year secondary degree in accounting, 2 years work experience in accounting and payroll with training and experience in the operation of computers.
