The Role

As an Account Director Senior with Lumen, you will be responsible for managing business development activities for high-profile named accounts that lead to the expansion and growth of new business. You will be accountable for the coordination and strategy on assigned key account(s) and responsible for the overall development and implementation of the account plan.

Location

Candidates for this position must reside in California, Colorado, or Washington.

Requires at least 50% of time conducting sales activities outside of the office.

The Main Responsibilities

  • Identifies, bids on, negotiates, and closes new sales opportunities to meet and exceed established sales and revenue quotas; provides comprehensive account plans and strategies to win new business from new and/or existing accounts.
  • Broadens and deepens existing customer relationships to gain strategic positioning and retain existing revenue while attaining additional business.
  • Provides input to sales management about trends and changes within the customer’s organization and makes recommendations for future actions necessary to improve the company’s position with the customer.
  • Provides accurate and detailed weekly forecast funnel of identified and proposed opportunities to meet or exceed sales quota requirements.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of the company’s entire product suite, with in-depth knowledge of certain products and/or services.
  • Drives account management responsibilities including solution creation, solution offering, configuration management, order issuance, service delivery, service management, and revenue recognition.
  • Demonstrates a balance of strategic and tactical thought leadership.

What We Look For in a Candidate

Required:

  • 10 years of sales experience in the technology or telecommunications industry selling to high-profile named accounts.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the telecom industry's competitive landscape.
  • Strong communication, written, and formal presentation skills, and proficiency in closing selling.
  • Self-motivated, proactive, results-oriented professional with the ability to work with minimal direction.
  • Proficient in MS Office products: Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • At least 50% of time conducting sales activities outside of the office.

Preferred:

  • Experience with Salesforce.

Compensation

This information reflects the anticipated base salary range for this position based on current national data. Minimums and maximums may vary by location. Individual pay is based on skills, experience, and other relevant factors.

Location-based pay ranges:

  • $132,847 - $177,122 in CO
  • $139,166 - $185,552 in CA and WA
