About this Position

Join our dynamic Marketing Digital Distribution team as a Product Owner and play a vital role in research, prioritizing product decisions, and guiding product strategy for several life insurance quoting applications. You’ll create a shared understanding of current and future customer experiences while building and managing product roadmaps that deliver end-to-end connected experiences for Primerica agents, clients, and home office operations.

This position is responsible for overseeing all activities related to several Primerica life insurance quoting applications. You’ll conduct research on competitor products and customer needs, work with several product delivery teams, and coordinate with various teams to deliver complete end-to-end user experiences integrated with other digital products and back-office processes that allow Primerica representatives to quickly and easily provide a personalized life insurance quote to their prospects and clients.

Responsibilities & Qualifications

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Product Leadership

Support the life insurance quoting application strategic development by participating in ongoing maintenance of customer experience maps and product roadmaps

Develop deep understanding of user experience mapping processes, including ecosystem mapping that supports the life insurance sales journey

Work with internal teams and agents to develop ideal customer experiences incorporating functionality, convenience, personalization, ease of use, and flexibility

Act as life insurance quoting system expert to deliver a best-in-class life insurance quoting application for Primerica representatives

Product Development & Collaboration

Partner closely with stakeholders to create and maintain product roadmaps, epics, user stories, and use cases

Communicate requirements effectively to cross-functional team members including software engineers, testers, UI developers, UX designers and IT security analysts

Serve as subject matter expert regarding application business rules and functionality for integrated product teams operating within an agile Scrum process

Manage key testing activities and system functionality validation prior to and post production promotes

Product Delivery

Manage and maintain all requirements materials and traceability matrices throughout development lifecycle

Articulate and communicate requirements clearly to product team members

Prioritize enhancements and manage release schedules working closely with development teams and project managers

Ensure team productivity and focus on the delivery of digital product key value-added features and enhancements

Team Leadership & Collaboration

Lead daily and weekly collaboration work sessions with product development teams

Provide regular guidance, support, and decision-making assistance regarding product direction and prioritization

Review and approve product team deliverables including requirements documentation, design, technical requirements, and training materials

Provide stakeholder, internal business partners and management with actionable insights about supported digital products to enhance decision-making and prioritization

Stakeholder Engagement & Communication

Plan and lead external stakeholder meetings with insurance agents to provide product updates, demos, and capture feedback

Develop compelling, creative, and easy-to-understand approaches for communicating insights to stakeholders

Bring visibility to experience gaps and integration opportunities across different customer touchpoints for supported digital products

Partner with stakeholders, product owners, and associates across the enterprise to align strategies, priorities, and roadmaps

Market Research & Analysis

Conduct customer research, market analysis, and competitor analysis for life insurance quoting solutions

Gather and assess market requirements through competitive intelligence, emerging trends, and stakeholder feedback

Collaborate with strategic design teams and cross-functional stakeholders to build experiences for field research and testing

Training & Support Management

Own feedback processes and methods for receiving input from external users, support teams, and marketing

Ensure comprehensive training and support materials are delivered with each product release

Support training and knowledge sharing with internal support, marketing, and insurance agents

Maintain and leverage product feedback to resolve issues and improve overall product based on value and priority

Required Qualifications

Education & Experience

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience

4-5 years of product owner experience, preferably in digital insurance applications and financial services industry

Experience in Life Insurance or broader Insurance industry required

Digital Product Owner experience with focus on web-based customer-facing applications on desktops, laptops and mobile phones

Technical Expertise

Proficiency with Jira or similar application for agile project management and backlog management

Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with data-driven approach

Experience with life insurance quoting systems, rating engines, and policy administration platforms, preferred

Knowledge of agile development methodologies and cross-functional team collaboration

Intermediate or higher user for MS Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

Life Insurance Domain Knowledge

Understanding of life insurance, particularly term life

Knowledge of underwriting processes, risk assessment, and insurance rating methodologies

Understanding of regulatory requirements for insurance applications (state insurance regulations, NAIC guidelines, compliance standards)

Familiarity with life insurance quoting processes, needs analysis, and sales workflows

Experience with insurance agent workflows and client application processes

Essential Skills

Strong facilitation skills for meetings, workshops, and collaborative planning sessions

Experience with customer research methodologies and user feedback collection

Ability to translate complex insurance requirements and regulations into clear product specifications

Track record of successful product launches and user adoption in regulated industries

Understanding of user experience principles and customer-centered design approaches for insurance sales processes

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with life insurance quoting platforms and policy administration systems

Product management certifications (e.g., Certified Scrum Product Owner)

Insurance industry certifications (LOMA, FLMI, CLU, ChFC, or state insurance licenses)

Knowledge of insurance compliance and regulatory reporting requirements

The salary range for this position is $120k - $140k.
