Executive Director - Gospel for Turks
Job Description:
Organization: Gospel for Turks
Location: Flexible (Remote/Travel required)
Position Type: Full-Time, Self-Funded (Missionary Status)
About Gospel For Turks : Gospel for Turks is a frontline mission organization dedicated to reaching Turkish‑speaking peoples—one of the largest unreached groups in the world—with the message of Jesus Christ. Utilizing a "Media to Movement" strategy, we combine high‑impact digital evangelism with personal discipleship and local church multiplication. Our mission is to move seekers from digital encounters to life‑changing faith and integration into healthy, multiplying Turkish churches.
The Opportunity : We are seeking a visionary and relational Executive Director to lead our mobilization and strategic growth efforts. As the Turkish‑speaking world experiences a historic stirring of spiritual interest, Gospel for Turks requires a leader who can bridge the gap between the harvest field and the global Church. This is a self‑funded missionary role. In alignment with Christian world missions practice, the successful candidate will be responsible for raising 100% of their personal support. For the first year, the primary "on‑the‑clock" focus will be a dual‑track of fundraising for the ministry and building the candidate’s personal support team, while simultaneously assuming leadership of the organization’s strategic trajectory.
Primary Responsibilities
- Relationship Building & Mobilization (Primary Focus)
- Church & Denominational Relations: Serve as the primary face of the ministry to Western churches and denominations. Cultivate deep partnerships that move beyond one‑time donations to long‑term strategic alignment.
- Donor Development: Identify, cultivate, and steward relationships with major donors, foundations, and individual supporters who have a heart for the Muslim world and unreached people groups.
- Advocacy: Speak at conferences, missions conferences, and church Sunday worship services and other meetings to raise awareness of the spiritual need among Turkish speaking peoples and the effectiveness of digital‑to‑disciple strategies.
- Strategic Leadership & Planning
- Board Collaboration: Work closely with the Board of Directors to refine the ministry’s long‑term vision and develop a three‑to‑five‑year strategic plan.
- Organizational Execution: Oversee the implementation of the strategic plan, ensuring that media initiatives, discipleship networks, and church planting efforts are aligned and measurable.
- Operational Oversight: Provide leadership to a global team of content creators, follow‑up responders, and field partners, ensuring they are resourced and encouraged.
- Support Raising (First Year Emphasis)
- Personal Support: Successfully build a team of prayer and financial partners to sustain your long‑term tenure with the ministry.
- Ministry Funding: Work to increase the organization’s general fund to expand media production and field follow‑up capacity.
Qualifications
- Spiritual Maturity: A deep, vibrant walk with Jesus Christ and a clear calling to the Great Commission and the Turkish‑speaking world.
- Relational Catalyst: A "people person" with a proven ability to build trust across diverse theological and denominational backgrounds.
- Strategic Thinker: Ability to see the "big picture" and translate vision into actionable steps.
- Entrepreneurial Spirit: Comfortable in a "start‑up" or "growth‑phase" environment where initiative is required.
- Communication Excellence: A compelling storyteller who can articulate the urgency of the mission in both written and verbal forms.
- Experience: Previous experience in missions leadership, non‑profit management, or pastoral ministry is highly preferred. Experience with support‑based ministry is a significant plus.
Core Values
- Gospel Centrality: A commitment to the pure Gospel as the only hope for the Turkish people.
- Cultural Humility: A deep respect for Turkish culture and a commitment to working alongside local Turkish believers.
- Innovation: A willingness to use cutting‑edge technology and media to circumvent traditional barriers to the Gospel.
