JK Executive Strategies is proud to partner with a care coordination and health home management services organization in search of an Executive Director to join its team! The Executive Director provides strategic, operational, financial, and organizational leadership to advance the organization’s mission of delivering high-quality care coordination services to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD).

Serving as the chief executive and public representative, the Executive Director ensures regulatory compliance, financial sustainability, operational excellence, and strong stakeholder relationships. This role requires a balance of strategic vision, analytical decision-making, compassionate leadership, and deep expertise in OPWDD care management operations.

The Executive Director works closely with the Board of Directors, senior leadership, staff, families, and external partners to ensure the organization continues to fulfill its mission effectively and responsibly.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, inspire, and motivate a predominantly remote workforce through transparent, consistent, and compassionate leadership.
  • Serve as a visible and effective advocate for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
  • Develop and refine the organizational and operational structure in partnership with the Board Chair.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with families, OPWDD representatives, community partners, providers, and oversight entities.
  • Engage policymakers, legislative leaders, and community stakeholders to advance awareness and support of care coordination services.
  • Represent the organization within statewide and regional industry associations and collaborative groups.
  • Provide direct supervision and guidance to senior leadership across all organizational functions, including care management, quality and compliance, staff training, and leadership development.
  • Provide strong financial leadership by developing balanced budgets, adapting to funding and policy changes, and managing costs and revenue to ensure long-term sustainability.
  • Ensure full compliance with OPWDD regulations and all applicable federal, state, and local requirements.
  • Establish and maintain effective systems for quality oversight, performance management, and operational excellence to deliver the highest standard of care coordination services.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of governance requirements and organizational operating agreements.
  • Engage the Board effectively, organizing four annual Board meetings and quarterly committee meetings, and supporting board development, including the slate of officers and directors.
  • Perform all other duties relevant to this position as assigned by the Board of Directors.

Requirements

  • Master’s Degree in Healthcare, Business, Human Services Administration, or related field.
  • Minimum of five years of progressive senior-level leadership experience within OPWDD-regulated environments.
  • Demonstrated experience overseeing Care Coordination Organization operations preferred.
  • Experience working with Boards of Directors.
  • Proven success in strategic planning and execution.
  • Strong financial management, budgeting, and billing experience.
  • Comprehensive understanding of compliance, operations, and quality management in IDD services.
  • Ability to work independently and motivate others.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Salary Range

  • $165-185k
