Compensation: $230,000 – $280,000 base + incentive
We are partnering with a leading precision medicine organisation, recognised globally for its liquid and solid biopsy capabilities, to appoint a Senior Director – Bioinformatics / Computational Biology .
This business sits at a pivotal stage of growth. With deep scientific credibility, an established clinical footprint, and a rapidly expanding biopharma partner base, the company is now scaling its real-world, multi-modal oncology data platform — transforming large-scale clinico-molecular datasets into research-grade cohorts that directly influence translational research, biomarker strategy, and oncology drug development.
The Role
The successful candidate will lead the continued development and refinement of scalable bioinformatics pipelines that harmonise heterogeneous genomic and longitudinal clinical datasets.
This includes:
- Driving multi-modal data integration across molecular and clinical sources
- Ensuring scientific rigour across internal and external data use
- Supporting translational research initiatives and biopharma collaborations
This is a senior leadership position requiring both technical depth and strong external communication. The role will act as a scientific subject matter expert in biopharma partnerships — identifying relevant patient cohorts, supporting scientific inquiries, and translating complex datasets into clear, defensible insights for partners and executive stakeholders.
Key Requirements
- PhD in Computational Biology, Bioinformatics, Genomics, or related quantitative discipline
- Senior Director or Director-level industry experience in Bioinformatics or Computational Biology
- Proven experience building and scaling bioinformatics pipelines for genomic and clinical data
- Strong programming capability in Python, with experience working across large-scale datasets
- Deep experience working with heterogeneous oncology real-world data
- Experience engaging with translational research teams or biopharma collaborators
- Ability to lead multidisciplinary technical teams in complex, fast-paced environments
