Meadow Falls of Rocky River is a warm and resident‑focused assisted living community dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for seniors. We are seeking a creative, energetic, and organized Activity Director to lead our life enrichment program and bring joy, purpose, and engagement to our residents every day.

Position Summary

The Activity Director is responsible for planning, coordinating, and implementing a comprehensive activity program that supports the physical, social, emotional, mental, and spiritual well‑being of residents. This leader will oversee activity staff, collaborate with other departments, and ensure a vibrant environment that promotes connection, independence, and fun.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, organize, and lead a diverse monthly activity calendar tailored to resident interests and abilities.
  • Plan and conduct group activities, one‑on‑one visits, outings, and special events.
  • Support residents with varying cognitive and physical abilities, including memory care participants.
  • Collaborate with nursing, dining, and administrative teams to deliver cohesive, resident‑centered experiences.
  • Supervise, train, and schedule activity assistants and volunteers.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of attendance and resident engagement.
  • Manage the activity budget and supply inventory.
  • Build positive relationships with residents, families, and community partners.
  • Ensure program compliance with state regulations and company policies.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma required; degree in recreation therapy, social services, or related field preferred.
  • Previous experience in activities, recreation, or senior living strongly preferred.
  • Ability to plan, lead, and adapt activities for older adults with diverse needs.
  • Excellent communication, creativity, and organizational skills.
  • Compassionate approach and genuine desire to enhance residents’ lives.
  • Ability to work some evenings, weekends, and holidays for special events.
  • Valid driver’s license.
