Responsibilities

Responsible for delivering safe, efficient and effective patient care while meeting all compliance and other established rules and regulations governing the home infusion/home health industry. The Director, Pharmacy Infusion Services provides overall strategic direction and leadership for enterprise pharmacy infusion services and related office-based infusion services. The Director is responsible for the development and execution of services, management of operations including high quality service delivery, meeting customer expectations, clinical effectiveness and patient safety. This includes the development and implementation of quality assurance and improvement program, human resources management, state, federal and applicable regulatory and accreditation compliance, evaluation of operating and capital resource needs and effective financial management related to productivity and budgeting. Additionally, the Director, Pharmacy Infusion Services serves as an operational resource and participate in enterprise-wide strategic discussions surrounding program expansion, payer network inclusion and contracting strategies and will oversee all staff supporting these services. This role is directly accountable for driving market development and financial performance while providing direct oversight for all operations in multiple locations including pharmacy dispensing and nursing. This position interacts independently with internal and external stakeholders, including, but not limited to, payers, PBMs, internal/external nursing agencies, manufacturers, and distributors.

Key Accountabilities

  • Management and oversight of home infusion program, education, training and development, policy and procedure development and maintenance, strategic planning and business growth and development, and compliance and accreditation.
  • Interacts with and promotes the mission and vision of the pharmacy infusion service to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Demonstrates expertise in Pharmacy practice and the mission of the pharmacy department, including awareness of innovations in technology and practice within the profession.
  • Supervises and manages the performance of individuals through ongoing coaching, feedback and development to motivate, engage and drive a high performing team while ensuring that an appropriate and adequately trained FTE pool is available for the pharmacy to operate efficiently and safely.

Qualifications

Required

  • Three years management in a pharmacy setting
  • Doctorate Degree PharmD
  • Pharmacist

Desired

  • One year experience working in a home infusion pharmacy
  • Master Degree Master in Business Administration (MBA) or Master in Health Administration (MHA); Post Graduate year 2 (PGY2) residency in pharmacy administration
