
Director, Student Involvement

The Director of Student Involvement cultivates a strong sense of belonging through programs, leadership development, and mentorship within a Christ-centered community. Through intentional cocurricular experiences, the Director supports students’ growth in self-awareness, interpersonal understanding, and campus engagement, fostering holistic development aligned with Grace College’s mission. This position provides strategic leadership for student involvement initiatives that strengthen campus traditions, support first-year transition and retention, and advance leadership development and co-curricular learning outcomes within Student Affairs.
Essential Responsibilities
- Administrative Leadership (35%)
- Overseeing the Student Involvement office, managing campus event schedules, supervising student employees, maintaining budgets, and ensuring compliance with institutional policies.
- Fostering relationships across campus departments, overseeing engagement platforms, participating in crisis management, and performing other assigned duties.
- Student Leadership Development (25%)
- Managing student involvement organizations and publications, developing measurable learning outcomes for leadership initiatives, and conducting regular meetings with student coordinators to foster personal and spiritual growth.
- Mentoring student leaders, promoting participation in activities, and assisting students in seeking counseling support when necessary.
- Campus Programming (25%)
- Coordinating and executing programs that enhance campus culture and school spirit, including overseeing class events and traditions like Homecoming Week and Family Weekend, as well as developing and assessing learning outcomes for these initiatives.
- First Year Experience (15%)
- Assisting in planning and executing Fall Leadership Training, new student orientation, the First-Year Experience (FYE), and collaborating with various offices to analyze data and support first-year transition and retention efforts.
