Job Details

We are seeking a hands‑on Director of Finance to build and run the U.S. finance function from scratch. You will establish scalable accounting, tax, compliance, and reporting processes while supporting fundraising and long‑term IPO readiness. This is a high‑impact role for someone who thrives in fast‑paced, growth‑stage environments and excels at both strategy and execution.

Responsibilities

• Financial Operations & Reporting: Own U.S. month‑end close, GAAP‑compliant financial statements, revenue recognition (ASC 606), accounts payable/receivable, and treasury management.
• Systems & Process Buildout: Implement scalable finance systems (NetSuite or similar), internal controls, and operational workflows.
• Strategic Finance Support: Develop financial models, KPI dashboards, and board‑level reporting packages.
• Fundraising & IPO Readiness: Lead financial due diligence for funding rounds and establish infrastructure for public company readiness (audit‑quality reporting, SOX‑aligned controls, 409A processes).
• Tax & Compliance: Manage all U.S. federal and multi‑state tax filings; primary contact for auditors and tax advisors.

Must-Have Qualifications

• 8+ years of U.S.-based finance experience, ideally combining Big 4/public accounting audit training with hands‑on operational experience in high‑growth SaaS or subscription‑based technology companies.
• Proven experience building or scaling finance operations from the ground up.
• Deep technical expertise in U.S. GAAP, including ASC 606 for SaaS revenue recognition, stock‑based compensation, and 409A valuations.
• Fundraising experience supporting Series B or later, including building complex financial models and leading due diligence processes.
• Hands‑on month‑end close experience and ability to establish timely, accurate reporting processes.
• ERP experience, preferably NetSuite, and strong operational systems skills.
• Strong understanding of U.S. federal and multi‑state tax compliance.
• Player‑coach mentality: comfortable designing processes and rolling up sleeves to execute critical tasks personally.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
