A leading global investment bank is seeking a Director to join its Energy Structured Finance practice. The Director will serve as senior deal lead on complex energy financings while building out client relationships and contributing meaningfully to origination. This is a high-impact role for a banker with deep energy markets expertise who is ready to step into a coverage and business development capacity alongside transaction execution.
Responsibilities
- Lead structuring and execution of energy financings across upstream, midstream, power generation, and energy transition - serving as the senior deal team member on most mandates
- Drive origination: develop and maintain relationships with E\&P companies, midstream operators, utilities, IPPs, and energy-focused financial sponsors
- Oversee all aspects of deal execution including structuring, credit approval, documentation, syndication coordination, and closing
- Partner with commodity derivatives, DCM, M\&A advisory, and other product groups to deliver integrated energy financing solutions
- Monitor energy market dynamics, commodity price trends, and regulatory developments; translate market intelligence into client pitches and strategic recommendations
- Represent the bank at industry conferences and with key client relationships
- Lead, mentor, and develop junior professionals across VP, Associate, and Analyst levels
Qualifications
- 8-12 years of experience in energy structured finance, reserve-based lending, or energy project finance, with meaningful tenure at the VP level or above
- Established relationships within the E\&P, midstream, utility, or energy sponsor community
- Track record of leading complex energy financings from mandate through close, including multi-tranche and syndicated structures
- Deep sector fluency in at least one vertical: upstream/E\&P, midstream infrastructure, power & utilities, or energy transition
- Strong leadership presence; experience managing and developing junior teams
- Bachelor's degree required; MBA, CFA, or technical energy background a plus
