Responsibilities

  • Supervise complex estate and high net worth consulting engagements.
  • Analysis of tax and practical implications of estate plans and trust documents.
  • Provide effective consulting and planning for high-net-worth individuals.
  • Supervise complex estate and trust administration.
  • QC of complex gift and estate tax returns.
  • Perform tax research to resolve trust and estate issues.
  • Maintain knowledge of new tax issues and general business trends that affect clients.
  • Prepare thought leadership ready for external and internal circulation.
  • Assist with development and refinement of practice and procedures for Trust & Estate Practice.
  • Assist with learning and development as a course developer and presenter.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of public accounting experience in the areas of estate tax, fiduciary income tax, estate planning, and trust administration.
  • CPA license or JD required.
  • A high level of technical tax expertise, tax research skills and experience reviewing complex estate and gift tax returns.
  • Possess a general understanding of entity taxation including partnerships and S-corporations.
  • Review of fiduciary accountings a plus.
  • Experience with international estate planning and foreign trusts a plus.
  • IRS audit experience a plus.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work as part of a team, acting as a mentor for junior staff and managing projects effectively across offices.
  • Energetic with a team-oriented mindset.
