Managing Director of Recruiting, Finance & Accounting Search at Turn2Partners

The Director of Accounting will work closely with senior leadership to develop and maintain sound financial policies, deliver timely and accurate reports, and provide strategic insight that supports decision-making. This position requires a hands-on leader who can manage day-to-day accounting functions while guiding a small team and partnering with program leaders to align resources with organizational goals.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee all accounting functions, including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and grant reporting.
• Ensure accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
• Develop, implement, and maintain financial policies, procedures, and internal controls to safeguard assets.
• Manage the annual audit process, coordinating with external auditors and preparing all necessary documentation.
• Oversee grant and restricted fund accounting, ensuring compliance with funding requirements.
• Collaborate with leadership on budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning.
• Supervise and mentor accounting staff, fostering a culture of accuracy, accountability, and service.
• Prepare financial reports for the Board of Directors and present key findings as needed.
• Monitor cash flow and provide recommendations to maintain financial stability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA preferred.
• Significant accounting experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership role (nonprofit experience strongly preferred).
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, nonprofit accounting standards, and grant compliance.
• Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across departments.
