The Physical Therapist Assistant is responsible for therapeutic intervention for persons with illnesses or injuries, which impede independent functioning of mobility, activities of daily living, cognitive thinking, and/or vocation. Responsibilities: Follows through on prescribed treatment plan as outlined by the supervising physical therapist. Demonstrates and applies the knowledge of human growth and development to deliver care in a manner appropriate to the age of the patient. Progresses patients according to the established treatment plan to achieve the highest potential level of function by discharge. Demonstrates awareness of patient precautions / contraindications when delivering care. Reports any significant changes in patient condition or behavior to supervising physical therapist. Requirements: License and Education: NYS PTA License and registration required Completed a two-year college program for a Physical Therapist Assistant required Skills: Physical therapist assistant must be able to provide treatment interventions following treatment plans established by supervising physical therapists to patients with diagnoses ranging from simple orthopedic conditions to more complex neurological conditions. Must be able to work in a fast-paced department. Position requires ability to accurately and completely document in a timely manner utilizing the electronic medical record system EPIC. Must have excellent communication and customer service skills. Posted Salary Range USD $43.00 - USD $43.00 /Hr. This range serves as a good faith estimate and actual pay will encompass a number of factors, including a candidate's qualifications, skills, competencies and experience. The salary range or rate listed does not include any bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation that may be applicable to this job and it does not include the value of benefits.
