Loan Processor (Potential For Loan Officer Within 3 Months)

Responsible for providing member service by answering member inquiries on account verifications and loan transactions. Maintains professional relationships with dealers and provides service and information via telephone or other correspondence regarding loan status Essential Duties Represent the credit union to the members in a courteous and professional manner and provide prompt, efficient, and accurate service in the processing of transactions Open new accounts and service existing accounts; set up new account files and provide members with all necessary information for membership Perform related follow-up tasks to ensure problem resolution and member satisfaction Execute loan transactions and approved loan policy documents as directed by the Assistant Vice President of Indirect Lending Prepare and generate Credit Bureaus for new loan applications received Knowledge of regulations and compliance as it applies to member service and loans Assist members with basic questions regarding their loans Fund dealer contracts Maintain a log of all applications received for the Indirect Tracking System Initiate and process ACH debits/credits Assist in the collection of Indirect (delinquent) accounts Assist in processing dealer reserve; submit necessary paperwork to Accounting for payment of funds Generate welcome letters for members on new Indirect Loans Knowledge of credit union security procedures, and immediately notifies the department head of any irregularities Assist branch operations in a relief capacity Assist in any area as directed by the Assistant Vice President (Operations) or Vice President (Operations) Education/Experience High School Diploma or GED One (1) year lending experience, financial institution preferred Two (2) years financial institution experience Skills/Competencies Personal computer knowledge; skills in using MS Word, and Excel Ability to calculate figures and amounts (electronically and manually) such as, but not limited to; interest, dividends, percentages and apply concepts of basic mathematics Ability to maintain confidentiality of work and/or information Ability to interpret, adapt and apply credit union/job/general guidelines and procedures Excellent public speaking, verbal and/or written communication skills (in-person and/or by telephone) Demonstrated leadership, self-motivated and team-oriented qualities Conduct self in a professional and mature manner Ability to proofread and edit accurately Ability to organize, prioritize and work well under pressure Ability to maintain a high degree of accuracy Flexible work and/or travel hours Physical Demands/Work Environment Constantly required to talk and hear Constantly required to use close vision, color vision, and ability to focus Frequently required to sit; to use hands to finger, handle or feel Occasionally required to lift or move up to 25-50 lbs.
