About the Internship
The
Information Security Intern
will work alongside security, privacy, and risk professionals to help protect the organization's systems, safeguard sensitive data, and ensure business continuity during disruptions. This internship is ideal for a student who is curious about how
technology, privacy laws, risk management, and business strategy intersect .
The intern will gain hands-on exposure to cybersecurity operations, data privacy, disaster recovery, and security awareness while contributing to meaningful, real-world initiatives.
What You'll Do Assist security analysts with reviewing security alerts, escalating potential threats, and documenting response actions. Support audits of data handling procedures to ensure alignment with global privacy standards (e.g., GDPR, CCPA), regulatory compliance, and internal policies. Contribute to the development, testing, and maintenance of
Business Continuity Plans (BCP)
and
Disaster Recovery (DR)
procedures. Collaborate with senior team members to evaluate new software, tools, automation, and workflows for security or privacy risks. Help design engaging phishing-prevention, cyber hygiene, and security awareness materials for employees. Maintain internal documentation, records, reports, and runbooks related to privacy, compliance, cybersecurity, and resiliency. Partner with IT and various business units to support security and resilience initiatives across the organization. Position Details: Employment Type:

Full-time during the summer (Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM, 40 hours per week); flexible hours during the school year based on class schedule. Perks & Benefits: Paid internship! What You'll Need
Currently enrolled in a degree program related to
Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or Information Systems . Curious mindset with an interest in understanding how systems operate and where risks can arise. Basic knowledge of cybersecurity fundamentals, including threats, vulnerabilities, access controls, and encryption. Strong communication skills and comfort translating technical or regulatory topics into easy-to-understand language. Analytical thinker with a willingness to learn and ask questions.
