Purpose of the role
As an Account Director, you will play a pivotal role in managing your account, working collaboratively with your team, clients, and supporting functions at adm Indicia to develop, sell, and manage the end-to-end delivery of the services we provide. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 12 years of professional experience. Your proven ability to drive growth in volume, profitability, and client satisfaction is essential. A strong understanding of the impact of daily activities on the overall service as well as P&L, and the ability to manage these proactively, will be key to your success in this role. Additionally, having a confident, proactive, open, and approachable communication style, with the ability to manage and develop client relationships and collaborate cross-functionally.
Key Responsibilities
- Owns category outcomes across the Americas for a major spend domain covering Promotional Premium Merchandise and POSM Print.
- Sets the category vision, supplier panel strategy, governance model, and performance standards.
- Partners directly with senior stakeholders to deliver multi-year savings, profitability, and risk management results.
Portfolio strategy & governance
- Define category roadmaps, supplier panel design, and the operating rhythm (QBRs, performance standards, escalation pathways).
- Set policy for preferred supplier compliance, exceptions, and client-specific overlays (e.g., FSC, color management, sampling SLAs).
- Develop high-impact executive presentations to secure leadership approval for panel design, commercial models, and transformation initiatives.
Commercial architecture
- Lead high-impact commercial frameworks: rebates/fees, rate-card strategies, indexation, service-level credits, and implementation controls.
- Protect profitability through disciplined scope control, value engineering, and pricing governance.
Executive stakeholder leadership
- Influence Account Leadership and buying team adoption; resolve conflicts between speed, cost, quality, and compliance.
- Present category performance to senior leadership with crisp financial narratives.
- Present category performance, commercial frameworks, and strategic supplier initiatives to senior leadership and key client stakeholders.
- Represent the sourcing function in QBRs and strategic client reviews.
Supplier ecosystem leadership
- Own top-tier supplier relationships; negotiate strategic agreements and performance improvement programs.
- Drive innovation: materials, sustainability options, manufacturing process improvements, and standardization.
Team leadership
- Develop Category Managers/Senior CMs; enforce best practices and a consistent sourcing methodology.
Success measures
- Multi-year savings and profitability targets achieved; improved service performance.
- Strong supplier ecosystem health (capacity, quality, compliance) and reduced operational noise.
- Clear adoption of category playbooks by Account Teams and buying teams.
Skills, Knowledge, Experience and Exposure
- Demonstrated leadership across complex stakeholder networks and supplier markets.
- 12+ years in procurement/category leadership, preferably with marketing materials, packaging, print, displays, or premiums.
