Position Overview
The account executive interacts with the existing customer base and prospective clients in an assigned territory to provide quality customer service and increased sales by working with outside carriers to secure coverage not available through HAI Group products.
The account executive performs analysis of the various insurance programs, eligibility requirements, and rate plans to determine the appropriate insurance placement for the client’s exposures and requirements. They are responsible for overall account management functions for customers in an assigned territory, including new business placement, review, negotiation, and processing of renewals, policy inquiries, coverage reviews and claims and billing inquiries.
Essential Functions
Support customer-focused activities and manage accounts and assigned customers.
Perform renewal, selling and cross‑selling activities; analyze eligibility, exposures, inspection reports, loss history, and other information to determine appropriate insurance placement.
Evaluate performance of existing market pricing and coverage; negotiate price, or rate insurance premiums in accordance with established underwriting authority.
Adhere to eligibility requirements, underwriting guidelines, and agency agreements of insurance carrier business partners, and responsibly execute rate plans within the guidelines and underwriting authority of the authorizing insurer.
Develop external relationships with quality companies that demonstrate strong capacity and solid customer service levels. Support internal operations by acting as liaison and providing necessary assistance, research, and support to the Underwriting department.
Subject matter expert for assigned coverage/lines of business.
Job Requirements
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
3+ years’ experience in commercial lines service in an insurance company or agency operations.
Resident producer license; ability to be licensed in all 50 states.
Travel required (approximately 3 trips annually within the United States).
Agency management system experience preferred.
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future.
Excellent attention to detail.
Organizational skills, ability to handle multiple priorities while maintaining efficient workflows.
Customer driven – able to take initiative towards resolving agency and customer needs.
Communication skills, both written and oral; able to present ideas clearly to customers.
Handle multiple and changing priorities.
Work Environment & Physical Demands
Inside climate‑controlled office building.
Ability to lift 25 lbs.
Travel.
Prolonged sitting and using a PC.
